Been a while...

Yes, I know... it's been quite a while since we've given an update. For me, Kayla, nothing much has changed. Work and more work. I did have a rather not-so-fun event happen on Wednesday night. Jeri dropped me off at my car and I looked down... my bloody tire was flat. So being the butch lesbo that I am, I pulled out everything and changed the tire. I figured by the time a tow truck made it out to me, I'd of had it changed anyway. Maybe it's because I have no patience, or perhaps I didn't want to pay someone to do something I could do.

Jamie's been doing well. She recently got an internship at KWOD 106.5. She's been doing PR type work, and having fun doing it. She's still going to school and also working part time. Safe to say she's been busy!

Well, it's getting late, I need to get to sleep. Friday is always a long day.

December...

Kayla Signing In...

Well, it's now a week or so into December and there is traffic everywhere. People rushing from place to place to get the best deals that they can get. I have to say that I was amazed to hear that on 'black Friday' people were harmed and killed by people rushing in to shop. One guy was killed by trampling people going into a store... what most people don't know is that he died protecting a mother and her child. That man is a hero in my mind, and those who just trampled over him should be ashamed of their behavior.

On a lighter note, Jamie and I headed to the Holiday Potluck for my work. The turn-out wasn't as big as I had hoped, but the food (which was cooked by the region manager herself) was amazing. I actually won a present in the raffle... which has never happened before. It felt nice. The music was kind of... different. Don't get me wrong, it had a good beat, but it was stuff that I couldn't dance to. I was hoping for a slow song so I could ask Jamie to dance. Eh well, what can ya do? I was excited that we were able to wear jeans and a nice shirt... I definitely took advantage of that!

I just love being comfortable in my clothes. Which is why I'm not into fashion at all. It might look hot, but it probably feels like crap. Ma always use to say, 'there's no comfort in beauty'... well that sounds about right. Which means for me, that I'm not trying to be beautiful because I'd rather be comfortable! I mean, don't most of us like being comfortable without clothes pinching here and there? Well, maybe that's just me.

Anyways... time to head out...

Kayla, signing in...

Happy Thanksgiving! They say that the holiday came a week late this year, which kind of makes me laugh. I mean, it does make me laugh, now that I think about it. We're over here at our friend Candice's place with her 4 year old son Ashton. He's definitely a cutie pie. The turkey is cooking and we've already started to drink the Disaronno. Love that stuff. Goes down so soft and smooth. That's one alcoholic beverage that I simply can't get enough of. The commercials for it makes me just shake my head. Everything is about sexual tension, and the one with the girl licking the ice cubes to get the last few drops of that heavenly amaretto... well, it's hot to say the least.

Anyways. I guess this is the time and place to say all the things I'm thankful for. There are so many things, where could I even begin to start. For one, I'm thankful for my partner, my wife, my love, Jamie. Yes, that sounds so pathetic, I'm sure, but it's true. I guess I could be a little more broad and say I'm thankful for those in my life. Friends and family who have picked me up when I was down and helped me stay afloat when I was having trouble swimming on my own. I'm thankful for my job, or that I have a job. In these trying times, I'm glad I have a job I enjoy (for the most part), and one that pays me a decent wage. Granted, I wish I could get more, but then again, doesn't everyone wish they could get paid more for what they do? *smiles* I'm glad that I can put food on the table and that we are comfortable, even if we wish we could have more and be more financially secure. But again, doesn't everyone wish for that?

I guess my wish for this thanksgiving is that the economy could get back on track and that those without jobs could get one/some. Well, I should get going. Love you all! Be well!

First Post

Well, this is the first post, hopefully, of many. Kayla speaking... LOL.

It's getting around that time of year when families are suppose to be nice to each other, whether by choice, or because they have to, and not only that... it's the season for crime. The economy doesn't help one bit, and in fact, crime goes up when the economy is down. People are losing their jobs and companies are failing, and those who haven't planned for the future feel they have no options. Some rob places, some break into cars, and others try to pass bad checks... of course there are always worse crimes than these, but these crimes happen more around the holidays and even moreso when the unemployment rate continues to skyrocket.

Case-in-point... tonight is the second time that Jamie's car has gotten broken into. They didn't get too much this time, at least not that she's noticed so far. How can security be roaming around and not catch someone breaking into a car?!? *growls* Then again, it is at the mall... in Fairfield... so what can I really expect? I guess part of me tries to believe that everyone is good, or that they won't do bad things... but I'm wrong, and I know that.

Eh well. Such is life, right? Time to get to bed. Jamie's home now and it's off to ma's and laundry tomorrow for me, and back to work for Jamie. So this is the red-head, signing out!
